Ballachulish to Glencoe Village
5 km
Distance
30m
Elevation
1-1.5 hours
Duration
This flat, easy walk follows the shoreline of Loch Leven between Ballachulish and Glencoe village, offering lovely views across the water to the mountains beyond. It's a practical walk too — connecting two villages without needing the car.
The path passes through woodland, along the shore, and past the old slate quarry that once employed most of Ballachulish's population. Information boards tell the story of the quarry and the area's industrial heritage.
It's a great morning or evening stroll, and the loch views — particularly at sunset — are beautiful. Combine it with a meal at one of the restaurants at either end for a perfect low-key day.
