Glen Etive Road Walk

Glen Etive is the hidden valley that branches south from the head of Glen Coe, following the River Etive for 12 miles to its terminus at Loch Etive. The single-track road is famous as the "Skyfall road" — James Bond drove his Aston Martin DB5 along it in the 2012 film.

While you can drive it, walking allows you to properly appreciate the magic: crystal-clear river pools perfect for wild swimming, waterfalls dropping into peat-dark plunge pools, red deer grazing in the meadows, and a profound sense of solitude that deepens the further you go.

There's no circular route — walk in as far as you like and turn back. The river pools at various points along the road are legendary wild swimming spots (cold but spectacular). The road ends at a small pier on Loch Etive.
